Jl. Ir. H. Juanda, or more commonly referred to simply as Jl. Juanda or Dago, is one of the most important and well-recognized main streets of Bandung. It is a central location for shopping, entertainment, dining, and Hotels, making it one of the most important facets of Bandung tourism.
But do you know about the persona behind the street’s name? He is a person so well respected and so well cherished that his name is used not only as a street name in Bandung, but also in Jakarta, Samarinda, and other places in Indonesia. Not only that, his name has also been commemorated as the name of a water dam in Jatiluhur, Purwakarta, and as the name of the main airport in Surabaya. In fact, due to his overall accomplishments and achievements, the government has acknowledged him as one of National Heroes of Indonesia.
His name is Juanda Kartawijaya, and this is a simple post dedicated to this amazing individual who is simply one of the finest children of this country.
